TIKI - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver A Pyers admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 100m when shifting ground inwards resulting in contact being made to MECHANICA which trotted roughly as a result. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicator imposed a fine of $300.

TIKI - Driver A Pyers reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 500m when being steadied to shift down on to the marker line, with the sulky wheel being contacted by the trailing EAGLE HANOVER (K Coppins). Given the circumstances Stewards were satisfied that Miss Coppins had not driven carelessly in this incident and took the matter no further.

CHESINOV - Trainer L Chin was issued a warning for the late notification of himself as the driver. Slow early. Lost ground near the 1100m and trailed the field thereafter before breaking late in the run home. A warning was placed on the gelding's performance.

The start was further delayed when VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO reared and fell to the track. Underwent a Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Sent to the outside Unruly position for the restart at the request of Trainer J Abernethy.

Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.

Broke near the 1400m, losing all chance, and broke again near the 900m whilst trailing the field. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a heel bulb laceration to the medial aspect of the near foreleg. The gelding was stood down pending receipt of a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing.
